Alex Hill Original Artwork
Alex has been working as a professional artist since the early 1970s. He has always been influenced by the British Coast along with the artwork of the Dutch Masters. Due to his early holidays near the River Fowey, an estuary in Cornwall, and his work as a crew member on board the ‘Sir Winston Churchill’ schooner and on a sailing barge on the Thames, Alex was inspired to become a Marine artist.
He paints idyllic British coastal scenes that help the viewer transport themselves into hidden creeks and harbours whilst being surrounded by imposing cliffs and rock formations. He adds drama with the arrival of a traditional sailing boat and incoming crew members with breath-taking reflections across the water.
As a traditional oil artist, he creates soft, atmospheric paintings set at either end of the day. He has earnt the reputation as an established fine art artist and his work can be found in select galleries across the UK and his originals are also in many private collections worldwide.
