Marcel Rebhan Sculptures

When thinking back, Marcel recounts how he had great fun growing up where he learned, from an early age, that if he wanted something that the other lads had then he had to make it as buying was rarely an option. So, make it, if possible, he did, from toy guns, rifles, swords, boats, cars, you name it, he made it using whatever he had to hand.

This necessity became a passion and to this day it still holds true as building and restoring old cars is something he gains great pleasure from. He loves to solve problems on equipment to fix it or to make it better than its original design. He never throws anything away that he thinks will become useful again and has built up a good collection of spare tools, components and “bits”.

Marcel became interested in sculpting animals when a friend, after looking through a bin full of “bits” he had in the garage, asked if he could make something for his garden out of scrap metal.

This he did and soon sculpting became quite addictive and since that day he has not stopped creating. Marcel’s sculptures are now sent worldwide to private customers and his work is sold exclusively at Wingates Gallery in the UK.

Marcel likes to take inanimate objects and builds life and movement into them by forming them in such a way that it takes a little while for the eye to pick out the different components used to form the different pieces of the animal.

Material: Marcel creates his sculpture from upcycled metal tools and metal components.

Technique: From design to MIG welding and forge work he finishes each piece with acetic acid.
